Something I've always loved about Noël Wessels: the secret pianism you'll hear on this EP. No matter how grim and gritty the track, NW sneaks in harmonic complexity that others never do, and he's not afraid to use pianos, bells and tongs in hellish soundscapes. He'll make your speakers excrete finesse and cenobites. Also: He can transform banal sampled dialogue into something forbidding. It took me a decade to realize the Sadean bits from "Untouched" were Darla's epithets from the TV show Angel.
